Thanks Michelle, for bringing together this personable, nicely researched, and informative story. The weird weather seems to be everywhere these days. Glad you're getting back into the writing groove!
Thanks Terry! It's good to be back. I'm so happy you're here. I really value your comments and input. Hope you are well and here to a fabulous February :)
Wow! Your writing is as magnificent as your photography! I have a meteorologist friend who used to work in Alaska. I'm going to forward your column to him. I have no doubt that he will love it as much as I do! Also, thanks for the shout-out! Writers supporting writers always brings me joy!
Hello Bob! Glad to see you here. Thanks for sticking around and for taking the time to read. Hope you are well and things aren't too crazy in New Mexico.
We’re having novel weather extremes in Maine too...
50’s above, then -10 to -30, then a dump of powdah snow, followed 3 days later by 48 above & rain. With tomorrow another big snow dump and back below zero...
I’ve been telling the trees to hold off on the sap if possible, and then there's the Stellar’s sea eagle 🦅 a totem for us all.
Hello Wendy! Yes, I've been hearing tidbits about the East Coast craziness too. You all just had a big nor'easter, right? Those temps are similar to AK. Our Pedicularis is blooming right now, at least a month, maybe 6 weeks too early. I hope your trees hold back a while. Have you seen the Stellar's sea eagle? I heard the NPR story about the bird. Thanks for the read and for sharing your experience.
A perfect description of what we're experiencing here in Southern Oregon. Lovely weather coupled with anxious thoughts of drought and summer fires. Yikes! What a time to be here.
Steve, thank you for taking the time comment and read this piece. The greatest inspiration to keep writing is when a reader is moved by the work. Thanks for being here.

All good and sunny here. Snow came with some very cold air. Got up to 22 here today. Skiing tomorrow.
Up to 22 - that's cold! The snow is good. Wasn't it pretty dry out that way not long ago? Have a blast skiing!
Pretty sorry snowpack so far. Need more so we don’t burn this summer.
