How are you, my friend?
I know some of my peeps up north are still buried beneath four feet of snow with even higher paths shoveled to the outhouse. Yesterday, it was minus 15 degrees in McCarthy, Alaska. Ouch!

Meanwhile, here in the Eden of Oregon, it’s been a solid 65 degrees every day with bluebird skies, and chilly nights. The veggie beds are popping and I started eating brand new baby arugula and mesclun as of yesterday, which is a good thing since the winter greens in the hoop house bolted with all the sunlight, and have become beautiful, sweet-smelling bee food.
My fingernails are packed with spring dirt from weeding beds and planting seeds. As it should be. I’m happier when my hands are dirty :)
I’m also happier when I’m getting words on the page. Writing sprouted too. When that happens, I smile a lot - like a Cheshire Cat, like I’m living the dream. I hope you are living yours too.

I want to share a couple of stories with you that published this week. The first one is for an online Medium publication that gives writers a place to post long-form bios. Since most Social Media bios are one or two sentences, this gives readers a way to learn more about writers. You can check out mine here: About Me - Michelle McAfee.
And, I’m grateful to Medium’s online publication, P.S. I Love You, for publishing one of my stories in their Editor’s Pick yesterday. This story happened while I was on tour in 2013 with another songwriter (names have been changed). You can find that one here: How Bikers Came to the Rescue.
As writers, we must write stories and articles in multiple publications to build up a solid crew of readers. My goal is to bring more folks over here, where we can chat whenever we want to, and you don’t have to leave your inbox to find me.
Stay tuned for another story, just for you. The writing flow has me posting your StoryLife stories on Sundays. I’d love to know if that works for you - or doesn’t. Drop me a line in the comments and let me know if you have thoughts on that. Or on anything else, for that matter. The weather where you live, the last silly thing your cat did, where you’re dreaming your next grand adventure.
See ya soon!
Michelle
I wish I could come play in the dirt with you :) Happy Spring!
